Shanay Kapp of the Hearts of Toti, said Covid-19 and last year’s looting, brought many families to their knees, struggling to buy stationery and school uniforms. This led to many requests to the Hearts of Toti for learners’ school supplies.

“We knew that the need for stationery was going to be high, but we never expected the need to be this bad. The Amanzimtoti community is amazing and they once again pulled together when there was a need,” said Shanay.

The organisation thanked all community members and businesses that donated towards the drive. Alta Erasmus of the Hearts of Toti, said the main goal is to provide families in distress with monthly food hampers.

“In today’s economy, this has become very difficult. We receive daily requests from families in need and emergency hampers are handed out until a home visit can be done. If you or your business are in a position to donate food or cleaning materials, please contact me on 072 801 0746, or Shanay on call 078 352 0555 or WhatsApp her on 072 252 9910. We would also like to thank our volunteers who so selflessly give up their time. These women have hearts of gold. Please follow our Facebook page Hearts of Toti to have a fuller understanding of what we do,” said Alta.

Financial donations to the Hearts of Toti can be made by using the following bank details:
