#50YearsAgo Doon Heights has come a long way

Which fond memories do you recall of your first day of school?

DOON Heights Primary School was started in1980 with five teachers and Mrs Bode as the principal.

One-hundred-and-twenty-five pupils were enrolled from class one to standard three. Doon Heights boasts to have educated swimming sensation, Penny Heyns at the time.

Mr Ferreira assumed duty as the second principal in 1992. In 1995, Ms Evert became the third principal of Doon Heights Primary.

The year 2000 saw the introduction of Grade R class in Doon Heights Primary, which caters for children entering Grade one the following year.
