Electricity supply disrupted in St Winifreds

Thursday's strong winds interfered with electrical supply.

AS a precaution, the eThekwini Municipality’s technicians switched off the electricity supply to the area between Oak Avenue and Ashley Road in St Winifreds, Kingsburgh on Thursday (November 18) afternoon to conduct maintenance.

The Ward 97 councillor, Andre Beetge said this was to allow technicians to safely cut trees that were interfering with electrical overhead cables and to repair wiring damaged during Thursday’s windy conditions.

“Residents are, however, strongly advised to continue to treat all connections as being live,” said Beetge.

Power will be switched back on once the work has been completed.
