Winklespruit bowlers await the opening of their bowling green

Winklespruit Bowling Club is open for socialising in the interim while the green undergoes spring maintenance.

“WINKLESPRUIT Bowling Club’s green is still closed for maintenance, but is benefiting from the early summer rains,” said the club’s president, André Gelderblom.

The green is still on track to be opened by the end of this month. Although the bowling green remains closed, the clubhouse is open every Wednesday and Friday afternoon from 15:00 onwards for socialising.

On Friday, November 5, a social supper night was held at the club which was very well supported by members and friends.

A big thank you to Shirley de Wee, Norma-Jean Rowland and Linda de Waal for providing a wonderful two course meal and to everyone else who contributed in helping out.

Thanks also go to Norma Raath, who so tirelessly ensured that refreshments were available and cold. The attendance draw was made and Elmarie Young’s name was drawn out. Fortunately she was present and won the prize.

Birthdays greetings this month go to Shane Blockhouse, Jimmy Ronald, Innocent Ndlovu and Linda de Waal.
