A HADEDA, that was seen with a plastic cap stuck around its beak and neck, risks starving to death if it does not get help soon.

Ansie Coetser, from the Amanzimtoti Bird Sanctuary, said the bird was spotted by staff at the sanctuary on the morning of Sunday, November 7.
“We tried to catch him, but he flew away,” said Ansie.
Carlyn Berry Hattingh, a wildlife rehabilitator, was also contacted by the sanctuary to try and catch the bird. She noted that the bird would eventually weaken as it can not feed.
“I just hope he is caught in time. Please keep your eyes open. If you are able to get close enough, please try catch him or call the Centre for Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW) on 031 462 1127 or 083 212 5281,” said Hattingh.
