Decomposed body found floating in Amanzimtoti River

The woman's body was handed to KwaMakhutha SAPS.

THE body of an unknown female was found floating in a rock pool in the Amanzimtoti River, near Mthiyane, on Tuesday, November 9.

eThekwini’s district communications officer, Captain Carmen Rhynes said the body was in an advanced state of decomposition and had multiple wounds to the upper torso.

Police divers from Durban SAPS Search and Rescue, along with Metro Police Search and Rescue, were called out to KwaMakhutha to recover the body.

“An inquest docket was opened and will be investigated,” said Rhynes.
