Murdered mother of two will be missed

It is not easy to say goodbye. But, as you have reminded us, it is not a final goodbye."

“WORDS cannot describe the heartache and loss we feel.”  These are the sentiments expressed by the members of the Nederduitse Gereformeerde (NG) Kerk where Rev Liezel de Jager inspired the community. She was found murdered on Wednesday, October 13.

“Dearest Liezel, from your first arrival in Amanzimtoti you have brought God’s light into the hearts of our congregation and community. We were inspired by your leadership and willing to follow you in building God’s Kingdom on earth, as it is in Heaven,” said the secretary of the church, Biancé Swanepoel.

“It is not easy to say goodbye. But, as you have reminded us, it is not a final goodbye, not ‘totsiens’, but ‘tot weersiens’ (until we meet again). Words cannot describe the heartache and loss we feel. You will be dearly missed. But, what we do know is the legacy you leave behind and the love you shared with everyone you had contact with will live on in our hearts. We thank the Lord that he blessed us with your presence, if only for a short time, and we pray that God will keep guiding us through this difficult time.”
