Christmas Gift Appeal wows Amanzimtoti crime-fighters
The initiative hopes to spread the festive cheer by sponsoring a gift to members of local security companies. This is the seventh year that the successful initiative has been running.
The Christmas Gift Appeal has surpassed expectations. The original target of R20 000 was met and the second target of R25 000 has also been reached. The third target of R30 000 has since been set.
“The generosity of the community continues to blow us away,” said the organiser of the event, Reena Solomon.
The initiative hopes to spread the festive cheer by sponsoring a gift to members of local security companies.
This is the seventh year that the successful initiative has been running. An appeal is made for the community to dig deep into their pockets to put a smile on the faces of those who risk their lives daily.
“Our little town is so fortunate to have three incredible companies who work together to combat crime in our area. With your help, we hope to spread a little Christmas cheer and make Christmas extra special for the supervisors, guards, street patrollers and response officers from CCPO, Blue Security and ET Rapid Response, who put their lives on the line for us.”
This year a new, but familiar face has hopped on board to make the initiative a success, Ruth Majola.
She said, “We will be wrapping up on November 14, as we need to hand out all the gifts before the CCPO office closes on Friday, December 3.”
