Amanzimtoti organisations honour Albino Awareness Month

The representatives from SAPS, Amanzimtoti CPF and social workers shared safety tips and advice for dealing with the violence, threats, and human rights violations often experienced by those living with Albinism.

In honour of Albino Awareness Month, Amanzimtoti SAPS together with the Amanzimtoti Community Police Forum (CPF) held an informative talk.  Members of the Albino community from the Illovo CPF Sub-Forum and Adam’s Mission were invited for the talk to share their challenges.  The programme encouraged open dialogue, giving the guests the opportunity to share their life experiences and challenges.

“The outcome of the discussion was that establishing a support group for community members living with Albinism and their families would encourage inclusivity for a vulnerable group in the community that often feels isolated and misunderstood,” said PRO of the Amanzimtoti CPF, Estelle van Eeden.
