Wanderers Haven hosts fundraising initiative

The organisation also runs a charity shop to generate funds and appeals to the community to donate any items that they no longer require.

Residents are encouraged to support Wanderers Haven’s fundraising initiative.  The organisation is in need of a bigger vehicle to transport more food and items to the community.  Founders of the organisation, Johnny and Sharon Swanepoel, are committed to creating a meaningful impact in society.

“Please support us in this as we always need funding in all the aspects of what we do. We are currently raising funds for a vehicle as our little car is just not capable of picking up large items. On a Sunday we often have to do three trips to pick up people for praise and worship,” said Sharon.

The organisation also runs a charity shop to generate funds and appeals to the community to donate any items that they no longer require. The charity shop and offices can be found at shop 5, Lifegro Centre in Amanzimtoti CBD.

“We rely on donations from the public and surrounding businesses to help us provide the assistance needed to get residents rehabilitated. We help those in need find employment, shelter and enter drug rehabilitation centres. Let us come together as a community and uplift our town and fellow residents. If we all do our bit, we can take back dignity one step at a time, one person at a time,” they said.

Donations of peanut butter, jam, cereal, pasta, canned goods, milk, sugar, tea and noodles will be much appreciated. Funds can also be donated through the following bank details: Capitec Bank, Wanderers Haven: savings account, account number: 1468687415.
