Man’s body found in Athlone Park

The victim's hands were tied together with red rope.

The body of an unknown man was near the Golf Course Road bridge in Athlone Park on Monday, August 2.
Members of Amanzimtoti SAPS attended to the scene.  The deceased is believed to be about 45-50-years-old.

“The body was found lying down an embankment. The visible injuries were severe indentation and a huge bump on the back of his head,” said communications officer of Amanzimtoti SAPS, Captain Charlene van der Spuy.

The victim’s hands were tied together with red rope.

“His dreadlocks were cut and found under his right arm. The body was retrieved by Metro Search and Rescue. A case of murder was opened for further investigation.”
