Organisations unite to restore hope amid unrest

A decision of whether shops can open will be made following information received through a situation report.

Community leaders are awaiting information to determine when retail stores will be able to open.

“We know that people are tired and have been manning the barricades for many days and hours. We know that people are scared and hungry,” said ward 97 councillor, Andrè Beetge.

“NGOs, church groups and the Community Policing Forum are working to set up a food bank. We are asking the community to remain calm. We will get through this.”
