Galleria Mall remains closed to the public

The management also thanks the law-abiding community members for their support during these unprecedented times

A post is doing its rounds on social media with the aim of inciting fear and anger in Amanzimtoti.  The post states that Galleria Mall is not allowing black shoppers at its premises, however, the mall has been closed since Monday, July 12.

“Kindly note that there is a WhatsApp message doing its rounds claiming that Galleria Mall is not allowing black shoppers. This is definitely not the case, the mall is closed to all for the safety of staff, tenants and customers. It is fake news aimed at inciting unnecessary division. Fake news merely causes panic and instils fear,” said Galleria Mall management.

The management also thanks the law-abiding community members for their support during these unprecedented times

“All customers are valuable and welcomed at the mall once it is safe. This post is to allay all shopper concerns and we look forward to seeing you back at the mall once the protest action settles. Stay safe and be vigilant in these uncertain times.”
