EDITOR – I would like to respond to the article “Keep your dogs on leashes” published in the 25 June edition of your newspaper.
I have been walking my furry friends at Hutchison Park and the beach for over 15 years, off leashes and have not had a problem because I respect the rights of others.
I pick up the dogs if there is a problem with others. Most reasonable people keep their dogs leashed if they are aggressive towards others, mine certainly are not and have never had a fight.
Regarding the poo, maybe Zeele Pauw should look around and see all the cow poo on the fields, no mention of making the herd boy pick it up.
Myself and others have been attacked by cows on the field. There are a number of us who walk our dogs on the field and most share my sentiments.
In these trying times should we not complain about matters and rather try to live in harmony. For the record I have complained about the cattle, but apparently, according to councillor, André Beetge, nothing can be done about it so I rest my case.
