KwaMakhutha murder suspect abandons bail application

Thulani Nandos Cele appeared in the Umbumbulu Magistrates Court on Wednesday, June 30.  He faces charges of murder and assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The 39-year-old suspect, who was set to appear in court for the brutal murder of a KwaMakhutha woman, abandoned his application for bail.  Thulani Nandos Cele appeared in the Umbumbulu Magistrates Court on Wednesday, June 30.  He faces charges of murder and assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

“The matter was previously remanded for bail information. However, Cele abandoned his application for bail. The matter was then remanded to Tuesday, August 3 for further investigation,” said regional spokesperson the National Prosecuting Authority, Natasha Kara.

The body of 21-year-old, Anele Bhengu, was found with multiple stab wounds on Sunday, June 13.
