Amanzimtoti organisations work better together

Other organisations are welcome to join the networking group.

There was much excitement when members of the Better Together Network (BTN) joined for the official start of their meetings on Tuesday, 8 June.  The networking group consists of various other non-profit community-based organisations that network and work together to uplift the Amanzimtoti community.

“We meet once a month to network and share intellectual property, resources and ideas and assist where the members’ specialty lies,” said communications officer of Amanzimtoti SAPS, Captain Charlene van der Spuy, who was elected as chairperson for the BTN.

She has held this position since 2017.

“Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the monthly meetings had to be cancelled. We are happy to announce that we have had our first meeting in March.”

As a community service network, the organisation has four major roles.

“We network and work together to uplift our community in an honest and ethical manner. The organisation provides community services by assisting members to communicate and share resources, skills and information. We promote and help to arrange events to assist with the financial stability of our members’ charitable organisations. Members also assist with social media to promote charitable works.”

Other organisations are welcome to join the networking group.

“We are extending an invitation to members and organisations in our community to attend one of our meetings with a view to partner with our members to assist the ever-growing population needing help.”

Members of BTN will meet again on Tuesday, 6 July, at 12pm at the Lords and Legends hall. For any further information, contact Captain Charlene van der Spuy on 031-913-1313, 072-136-2770 or email vanderspuycharlene@saps.gov.za.
