Lockdown regulations explained by cllr André Beetge

Following president Cyril Ramphosa’s announcement that the country will move to level two of lockdown, ward 97 councillor, André Beetge explained the regulations.

“As the third wave leaves a trail of devastation and death in it wake, the president announced moving back to adjusted level two on Monday, 31 May.”

What does this mean for the man in the street?

“The wearing of a face mask that covers both the nose and mouth is mandatory when in a public space and the responsibility remains on the owners or operators of businesses to ensure that all patrons adhere the wearing of masks and follow social distancing protocols.  It is actually quite concerning when one observes the total disregard for the regulations when it comes to social gatherings. The virus is fat from gone or disabled, and it is only be complying and individual self discipline that we will succeed in riding out this deadly third wave.”
