CCPO has made several recoveries and arrests this week. A suspect was seen on a property in Athlone Park and CCPO, Blue Security, ET Rapid Response, Amanzimtoti SAPS crime prevention and National Security responded.
“The suspect ran into the bush leading down to the beach. The suspect was carrying a white bag. Amanzimtoti Lifesaving transported CCPO and SAPS members about 4.5kms along the beach to where the suspect was last seen. The bag was found after a long search in a very thick bush. Unfortunately, the suspect had disappeared. The bag contained Samsung tablets, cellphones and extension cables,” said CCPO committee member, George Snodey.
A weed eater was recovered by CCPO after one of their off-duty guards observed it being hidden in the Amanzimtoti CBD.
“It has been handed in at Amanzimtoti SAPS. If you believe it is yours, contact SAPS or CCPO.”
Surfboards were stolen from a kiosk and were recovered within 24 hours.
“After receiving information from my informer the surfboards were found in an Umkomaas second-hand shop. We knew who the suspects were and were looking for them. Unfortunately, they did get word that we were after them, and fled the area. Most of the security companies including CCPO are on security and police WhatsApp groups and with the help them the suspects were found in Margate by Wolf Security.”
The suspects were arrested and detained.
