Men’s open singles underway at Amanzimtoti Bowling Club

The men’s open singles got underway at Amanzimtoti Bowling Club (ABC), and the preliminary round and round one are now under the belt.

Winning through to round two to be played on Sunday, 13 June, were Dion Audie, Dave McMillan, Phil Whitton, Carl van Heerden, Martin Birch, Andrew Walker, Greg McLeod, George Glaves, Shaun Fagan, Steve Woor, Mike Pitchers, Barry Bush, Ashley McIntyre and Brian Masters. Also through on a walk-over are Steve Evenwel and Clive Frank.

In round two of the women’s inter-club league Toti’s A side had a draw on six points, the B and C sides both won getting nine points, and D side lost on three points.

The men’s league has now completed round six. The A side lost scoring seven and a half points and are now fifth on the log in the first division; B side won their game with 10 points and are lying fourth in the second division; the C side won their game with seven points and are now sixth in the fourth division and the D side lost scoring only two points, but are lying third in the sixth division.

At TGIF the 100 board was won by Heather Cooper. Nita Meumann was not present for the attendance draw, and so the prize will go up to R400.

Keith West’s number came out in the key draw, but as the right key was not found the jackpot will go to R4 320 with 29 keys to pick from next week.

The remaining women’s drawn 4’s semi-final has been brought forward to Saturday, 5 June, and the final will take place on Saturday, 19 June, along with the men’s drawn 4’s finals and the men’s novice singles finals.

There are still places available in the Pam Golding women’s nominated 4’s taking place on 24 and 25 June.

Another game to put your name down for is the Youth Day game on Wednesday, 16 June, which will be pro 10 nominated pairs, four games of 10 ends.
