Pizza delivery leads to shoot-out in Isipingo

Two knives, the pizza, cooldrinks, a stolen bank card, a cellphone and other receipts from this store were recovered at the scene.

A trio of criminals was served what they ordered while attempting to rob a pizza delivery man in Isipingo. Two suspects were arrested following a shoot-out with the police.  A scooter delivery man got to work and was given a delivery in James Avenue, Isipingo, he claimed that he was once robbed at the same address. He became suspicious and he requested the members of SAPS to accompany him for the delivery.

“Members of the detective and crime prevention units followed him there and staked out the address. They noticed that two men had stopped the driver and a third person kept watch,” said communications officer of Isipingo SAPS, Captain David Ragavan.

A case of attempted murder has been opened by the members of Isipingo SAPS.

“When the driver gave them items, the suspects threatened and searched him. The members acted and the three suspects took the items and ran up James Avenue towards the bushes. As the police entered the bushes one of the suspects opened fired on the police members. Four of the members returned fire, they managed to apprehend two suspects.”
