Planned water interruptions for South Coast

The construction will run for five hours commencing Tuesday, 11 May from 10am to 3pm.

EThekwini Municipality informs residents of the planned shutdown of the South Coast augmentation pipeline. This will affect the supply of water in some areas in the South. The shutdown will be carried out to replace a faulty scour valve and a leaking air valve on the 800mm diameter steel trunk main supplying Amanzimtoti waterworks. The construction will run for five hours commencing Tuesday, 11 May from 10am to 3pm.

The following areas will be affected until the process to replace the faulty valve is fixed:

• Amanzimtoti CBD • Isipingo • Athlone Park • KwaMakhutha • Most parts of Adams Mission • Ezimbokodweni • Lewis Dr area • Bhekulwandle • Umnini • Magabheni • Ehlanzeni • Mgobhozini • Illovu • Lovu Beach • Mfume • Kingsburgh • Panorama Park • Umgababa • Umkomaas (Craigeburn, Amahlongwa, Amalundi, Crowder Farm) • Malabar Hills • Lotus Park • Garden lots • Almond road • D1060 (KwaFakazi, KwaMgendwa, Mahlathini, Ohlongeni, eKuphileni)

The municipality apologises for any inconvenience caused during this period, and requests residents to refrain from water-consuming activities such as filling swimming pools, car wash and garden irrigation during the shutdown.  For more information and enquiries regarding water supply, residents are urged to contact 080-131-3013 or WhatsApp 073-148-3477.
