Illovo Glen baby needs help

The funds raised will be used to cover the hospital bills, test, specialists and treatments that the little one requires.

Help baby Brody Dean van der Schyff.  Baby Brody was born five weeks earlier than expected on 15 March. Unfortunately, he had a rough start to life. Within four days of being born, he was admitted to the hospital, with neonatal sepsis and jaundice. After three unsuccessful lumbar punctures, doctors managed to test the spinal canal fluid and the result came back positive for meningitis.

“He was on antibiotics through a drip for 21 days. He was discharged, but sadly not even a week later he started running high temperatures. Brody was rushed back to his paediatrician where he was sent for more blood test and immediately admitted to hospital,” said his mother, Samantha. Brody is the youngest of her four children.

She appeals to the community to assist by donating towards his treatment. The funds raised will be used to cover the hospital bills, test, specialists and treatments that the little one requires.

“Unfortunately, during these difficult times, he has not been able to be put on medical aid to cover a private hospital. More tests are needed to determine what is wrong and the treatment he needs. As with every baby, he deserves a chance to the best possible life.”

“Please support this beautiful baby boy to cover his medical expenses. Every little bit helps. Let’s show Brody there is beauty still left in the world as the community comes together to give him a fighting chance to have the best life. Let’s stand together and give him the blessing of health with the best possible care.  A big thank you to all those who have contributed and assisted to make his treatment possible. Thank you to those who have also supported the raffle,” said the Illovo Glen resident.

To assist little Brody, use the following bank details Capitec savings account, account number, 1637374427, branch code, 470010.
