Movie auditions begin in Amanzimtoti

The turn-out of local actors was nothing short of remarkable. From accents to impersonators the auditions saw it all. 

Local production company, Boulevard Films, was eager to meet and explore the talents that Amanzimtoti and surrounding areas have to offer. Auditions for the movie, Dreamy Dave, began on Thursday, 25 March, at Memories Restaurant based in Athlone Park. The movie will be shot in various locations including, Amanzimtoti, Johannesburg and Sydney, Australia. It will follow the story of Dave, who is an aspiring actor.

“The movie is about a man, Dave, who works in a honey factory and constantly dreams of making it big in the movie industry. He is hit on the head with a frying pan by his crazy landlord and loses his memory. He starts seeing visions of Marilyn Monroe who guides him to pursue his dreams,” said the casting director, Bruce Gounder.

He will also showcase his talents on screen in the role of Dreamy Dave. The movie promises to leave the audience in stitches.

“It’s a crossover movie that will reach various audiences. We are eager to explore the beauties that South Africa has to offer.”
