[WATCH] Viral car-jacking confirmed to be in Amanzimtoti

Three men jumped out of the car, armed with firearms, and approached her.

A case of car-jacking is being investigated by Isipingo SAPS Vehicle Theft Unit after a woman was robbed by three armed men on Friday, 16 April.  A video of the car jacking has gone viral on social media.

“The victim was driving her new blue VW Polo, which had no registration plates at the time. She was driving along Lewis Drive and about to turn to her place of residence when a white VW Polo hatchback stopped in front of her blocking her way,” said communications officer of Amanzimtoti SAPS, Captain Charlene van der Spuy.

Three men jumped out of the car, armed with firearms, and approached her.

“They forcefully removed her out from her vehicle pulling her to the side of the road, jumped into the vehicle and sped off with the other vehicle following. No shots were fired. The victim’s personal belongings, including a laptop, was still inside the vehicle.”
