Suspects use toy gun to rob Isipingo woman of R100k

According to the homeowner, the suspects fled with about R100 000 from the safe.

SUSPECTS, wielding a toy gun, robbed an Isipingo woman of R100 000 on Monday, 12 April. The woman, her domestic worker and gardener were ambushed at about 2.30pm after the two suspects gained entry to the property by jumping over a rear wall.

“They walked through the open back doors, one wielding a knife and the other with a gun, demanding keys to the safe. The suspects tied the women up in the bedroom and hit the gardener over the head with a pipe,” said Blue Security community and media liaison officer, Omeshnie Naidoo.

According to the homeowner, the suspects fled with about R100 000 from the safe.

“To add salt to the wound, the suspects left behind their weapon, which on further inspection by Blue Security Armed Response was found to be a toy gun.”

Paramedics treated the gardener on site.
