Stolen vehicle recovered in Umgababa

It was discovered that the vehicle was sought for a case of theft.

A stolen vehicle was recovered by members of ET Rapid Response and Amanzimtoti SAPS Crime Prevention Unit on Wednesday, 31 March.  Members of ET Rapid Response were patrolling in the vicinity of Umgababa when they noticed a Toyota Fortuner parked at a premise with no license plates or disc.

“Members requested assistance from Amanzimtoti SAPS crime prevention for further inspection. The vehicle was checked by members, and confirmed signs of tampering on chassis numbers, engine number, fake VIN stickers, as well as previous signs of possible stripping.”

The vehicle was subsequently seized, and taken to the pound for VIS enquiry. It was discovered that the vehicle was sought for a case of theft.
