Crocworld welcomes acting manager
He has contributed greatly to the centre's development, with innovative live streaming allowing the team to access audiences during lockdown.
It’s an exciting new year for Crocworld Conservation Centre with the experienced team gaining even more expertise in the form of new acting centre manager, James Wittstock. The 25-year-old formerly worked in the role of Crocworld reptile curator. James, who relocated from Durban North to Crocworld in 2019, has contributed greatly to the centre’s development, with innovative live streaming allowing the team to access audiences during lockdown.
“I’m extremely grateful for the new role and I believe with the current management team and staff, Crocworld will only go from strength to strength,” said James. Managing a conservation centre has been a long-held dream of mine and Crocworld is so much more than just a reptile park, it’s part of the history of the KZN South Coast, and I hope we are able to build on that legacy.”
During lockdown, Crocworld fans can catch newly-appointed reptile curator, Wade Kilian, every Thursday at 11am livestreaming via the ‘Crocworld Conservation Centre’ Facebook page, with Crocworld’s bird curator, Ryne Ferguson, livestreaming video every Tuesday at 11am. For those wanting a real-world experience, Crocworld is open and follows all Covid-19 protocols. Visitors must wear masks, sanitise and follow family group social distancing regulations. In line with regulations, the centre and café are open from 9am to 4.30pm.
