The community rallied behind the animal lover after a post on Facebook gained a lot of attention and was shared several times. Community environmentalist, Shaun Callaghan, initially posted about the initiative on social media.

“Even when she was offered a cake, she asked how much that was and decided that instead of getting a cake, it could be more money for food for the animals. All presents would need to be food for the animals,” the post read.

Bags upon bags of food were delivered to her home which will be donated to Amanzimtoti SPCA and Catwings. Her kind-hearted gesture has inspired more people in the community to give back on their special days.
