The organisation is also conducting a stationery drive and appeals to the public to consider donating books, school clothes, shoes and socks.

Wanderers Haven has been re-homed, but remain committed to creating a meaningful impact in society. The charity shop and offices can be found at shop 5, Lifegro Centre in the Amanzimtoti CBD.  The organisation has adopted a holistic approach to assist those in need to help themselves.

“This is more than just giving a food parcel to someone. We want to help people grow,” said co-founder of the organisation, Sharon Swanepoel. “We want to improve the lives of those in need by empowering them through life lessons.   It is important to keep moving forward despite the challenges faced. Our organisation is here as a stepping stone and not the last resort.”

The organisation is also conducting a stationery drive and appeals to the public to consider donating books, school clothes, shoes and socks.

“We rely on donations from the public and surrounding businesses to help us provide the assistance needed to get residents rehabilitated. We help those in need find employment, shelter and enter drug rehabilitation centres.   Let us come together as a community and uplift our town and fellow residents. If we all do our bit, we can take back dignity one step at a time, one person at a time,” he added.

The organisation also runs a charity shop to generate funds and appeals to the community to donate any items that they no longer require.  Donations of peanut butter, jam, cereal, pasta, canned goods, milk, sugar, tea and noodles will be much appreciated.   Funds can also be donated through the following bank details: Capitec Bank, Wanderers Haven: savings account, account number: 1468687415.
