Amanzimtoti SPCA temporarily closes its doors

“As grateful as we are, we will unfortunately not be accepting donations for the shop during this time due to space limitations, and Covid-19 transmission risk,” said manager, Tracey Girling.

Amanzimtoti SPCA will temporarily shut its doors due to the high number of Covid-19 patients in the area. This is aimed to safeguard staff during this critical time.  The increasing numbers of new cases, and the terrifyingly high number of active cases in the province, has lead the organisation to make the difficult decision. SPCA will be on lockdown for a minimum of two weeks, until Saturday, 16 January.

To minimize risk of transmission, the following measures have been put in place:

As grateful as we are, we will unfortunately not be accepting donations for the shop during this time due to space limitations, and Covid-19 transmission risk,” said manager, Tracey Girling.

This closure is going to have a seriously detrimental impact on us financially. If you can spare just R30, it will make a difference. Don’t ever think your donation won’t count.  The fact is that, with your help, we can push though the financial implications of this closure, but we can’t bring back a human life.”

The organisation also appeals to the community to be more patient and mindful on social media.  To help, donate funds into the following account: Amanzimtoti SPCA, FNB, current account, account number: 62807184552, branch code: 220127, reference: Covid-19 assist.
