[WATCH] – EThekwini Municipality hosts fruitful book launch

With the purpose of celebrating South African authors and encouraging reading among youth, the event was incredible.

EThekwini Municipal Libraries book launch programme on Tuesday, 17 November, at the Amanzimtoti Civic Centre.  The book launch featured four authors, Krish Govender, Qiniso Ndebele, Busi Maphumulo and Bathembu Mvelase.

With the purpose of celebrating South African authors and encouraging reading among youth, the event was incredible. Each of the authors were given the opportunity to present a reading of the book while highlighting the reason behind each publication.

“When your work can a positive change in somebody else’s life, you have done something wonderful,” said special guest for the event, councillor André Beetge.  “A book is not just the cover, its what’s between the two covers is important. It is wonderful to see African writers coming out and writing their stories. It makes me so excited to read these books and I’m amazed at what goes on in people’s minds.”
