SAPS honours 16 Days of Activism

Communications officer of Amanzimtoti SAPS, Captain Charlene van der Spuy said It is therefore of utmost importance that we unite against violence, build each other up, strengthen each other and ourselves morally.

The 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children Campaign takes place annually from 25 November to 10 December.

“During the current Covid-19 pandemic, it is likely that people feel scared and uncertain about the future. This could result in intense feelings of anger and frustration, which in turn, could increase the likelihood of violence,” said communications officer of Amanzimtoti SAPS, Captain Charlene van der Spuy.  It is therefore of utmost importance that we unite against violence, build each other up, strengthen each other and ourselves morally.”

What if someone I know is violent and inflicting domestic abuse?
*Take action.
*Take a strong stand against domestic violence.
*Send an important message that abuse is harmful and will not be tolerated.
*Remember, ‘You are what you do, not what you say you will do.
