Clean Surf Project cleans up Amanzimtoti Lagoon.

The next clean-up will take place at the river mouth on Umbogintwini Beach on Saturday, 10 October from 9am to 11am.

Clean Surf Project (CSP) tackled a mammoth beach clean-up on Monday, 5 October at Amanzimtoti Lagoon.

The recent rainfalls have caused water lettuce and litter to wash out onto the beach. The CSP team managed to collect 80 bags of litter, preventing it from entering the ocean.

“The main goal is to remove as much plastic waste as possible and try to send items for sorting and recycling with the assistance from local companies. Special thanks to Michael Zondi and Simphiwe Shezi who were the clean-up crew,” said the organisation’s Romy Wenzel.

The next clean-up will take place at the river mouth on Umbogintwini Beach on Saturday, 10 October from 9am to 11am.
