Organisation lends a helping hand to CANSA

All Covid-19 protocols were followed and the cupcakes and cookies were all packed in airtight containers.

Almost 2 000 sweet treats were gathered for Being Helping Hands’ (BHH) Cuppa for Cancer to raise funds for the Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa) last weekend at Toti Mall.

The organisation embarked on the special event in commemoration of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

“Our sponsors went all out. We were not selling the treats, but for a mere donation of R5 and upwards you could get any of the treats that we put on the table. We had amazing designer cupcakes and cookies from the best of the best bakers. BHH wants to say thank you to all our sponsors who came on board and took part in the draws, and thank you for coming out especially to support this initiative,” said founder, Surentha Govender.

“A huge thank you to Toti Mall and Chatsworth Centre management and team, we are really grateful for your support. Our BHH team is the cream of the crop. They are simply awesome and they have outdone themselves as team players for both days of the event. I am blessed to have had met so many encouraging people through this event and I know together we can do great things. I thank God for my awesome team who allow us the privilege to keep going and accomplish our goals. A huge thank you to everyone who supported this event. BHH were so excited by our progress that we have decided to host another Cansa initiative again this year.”
