Paddle-out memorial for Warner Beach resident

People are requested to be at the beach at 9am for a 9.30am start.

A paddle-out memorial service will be held for family and friends of Teniele Lee Son (nee Buis) on Saturday, 3 October.
Teniele died on 19 September after a 10-year struggle with brain cancer. Her oncologist said it was amazing that she lived for so long after her first operation, due to it being an extremely aggressive cancer.

Her memorial service takes place at Baggies Beach in Warner Beach. As her late brother Bryce’s was held there about 18 months ago, the family wanted to use the same venue for her. She was an organ donor. Her liver went to two children, and her heart and lungs were donated as well. Bone was taken from her arm and leg to be used for stem cell cultivation.

People are requested to be at the beach at 9am for a 9.30am start. Tea and coffee will be served at the ski boat club afterwards and the family has requested that each person brings a plate of food to share. Also take a flower with to be placed in the sea during the paddle-out.

The family said the following quote is indicative of the way Teniele led her life: “We begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived and your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget”.
