Isipingo woman stabbed in home invasion

The victim was unable to provide a proper description of the suspect and no arrest was made.

A woman was stabbed by a knife-wielding burglar who entered her Isipingo home through an open window, before fleeing with a cellphone on Monday, 21 September. PT tactical units and ambulance services responded to the incident and discovered that the woman had been stabbed.

“It is alleged that the suspect accosted the woman inside the house after forcing the burglar guards apart. The suspect demanded cash and cellphones. The victim informed the suspect that she had no cash, but handed over her cellphone. She attempted to appease the suspect in a bid to distract him from harming two elderly women who were also in the house. He then stabbed her and attempted to stab her again when she pressed her panic alarm. The suspect then fled,” said spokesperson for the organisation, Dhevan Govindsamy.

The victim was unable to provide a proper description of the suspect and no arrest was made. “Residents are urged to be vigilant and have panic remotes close at hand for quick assistance at the touch of a button.” ALSO READ: Amanzimtoti homeowner stabbed in brazen attack
