Hijacked truck recovered and suspect apprehended by Amanzimtoti officers

A shootout ensued between members and the suspects.

A hijacked truck was recovered and a suspect apprehended on Friday, 11 September. A Toyota Dyna truck was activated as hijacked from the Cato Manor area at about 3.30am. “It was established it was mobile on the N2 Southbound approaching Toti,” said ET Rapid Response South Coast managing member, Tony Lokker.

Within minutes it was located by response members. A pursuit ensued on the N2 by the tracking company and, after information was circulated over radio networks, ET, CCPO, Blue Security, SAPS and Metro Police joined in.

A shootout ensued between members and the suspects, who lost control of the truck and crashed by the Seadoone Road offramp, which lead to the apprehension of one and the recovery of the truck. “Well done to all members involved and I’m glad no members sustained any injuries.”
