Amanzimtoti residents show their support for #MoveOneMillion

According to the group, the end result of the movement is to demand that citizens elect leaders directly. They hope that every South African shows unity to have a real, free and fair democratic election. 

The Move One Million group gathered on Saturday morning, 5 September on the Durban promenade to show their support for the worldwide movement.

The movement aims to unite all South Africans to collectively take action and enforce constitutional rights by implementing direct elections through peaceful demonstrations. A direct election means

“Absolutely incredible is the only way to describe the event. There was an amazing turn-out from Amanzimtoti and we hope to partake in a lot more movements in the community. The mission of the movement is to encourage South Africans to work together, be kind to each other and make a positive difference. It was just simply beautiful to see people from all walks of life gather together to show their support,” said Bridget Scholtz, who was part of the group from Amanzimtoti.
