Bible Society celebrates bicentenary

All are welcome to drop off a donation in support of bible work.

The Bible Society of South Africa (BSSA) is a part of a global fellowship of 151 bible societies known as the United Bible Societies (UBS), the third largest non-profit globally.

Its bicentenary comprises of a 2 Million Bibles Project which includes free bibles for Grade 7 learners, the blind and deaf, prisoners, bible-based literacy material for youngsters and for the poorest of the poor. Due to the Covid pandemic most of their events have been shelved, however a virtual run/ walk for hope takes place on the weekend of 22 and 23 August. The virtual 5km, 10km, 21km and 42km run/ walk for hope will be hosted in association with Modern Athlete. You must register online and signup to donate.

A birthday ‘drive by’ event will also take place on Saturday, 22 August, at the Durban Bible House, 70 Ramsay Avenue, Mayville from 9am to 1pm. All are welcome to drop off a donation in support of bible work, have your photo taken for their social media gallery and receive a gift of appreciation while in your own vehicle. Covid-19 regulations will be adhered to in order to ensure your safety..

Make a donation to BSSA with the following bank account: account name: Bible Society of South Africa, ABSA bank, account number: 40-5826-9909, branch code: 632-005, reference: your name.

Furthermore, by sending an SMS with the word bibleskzn, bybelskzn or amabhayibheli to 38774 for a fee of R10 per SMS you will contribute to the 2 Million Bibles Project. T & C’s apply.
