Amanzimtoti woman knocked down and killed

The woman was found to be in a critical condition.

A woman was killed and a man left injured on Saturday morning, 1 August after they were knocked down by a vehicle on the N2 highway. When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene at about 8.30am, they found another medical service already attending to the woman lying in the road and the man who was seated.

The woman was found to be in a critical condition and advanced life support interventions were immediately initiated. Despite the best efforts of the paramedics, the woman unfortunately succumbed to her multiple injuries at the scene and was declared dead. The man sustained minor to moderate injuries and was transported to hospital for further medical care.

The man and woman were apparently walking with their dog when the incident happened and the dog was found unharmed at the scene. The exact circumstances surrounding the incident is unknown, but authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
