With bowlers keen to get back to bowls, the three rinks available for play were full with happy bowlers.

After more than three months of no bowling due to Covid-19, Winkle Bowling Club (WBC) is now open to members only for practice bowling.

At the opening of the greens on Friday, 17 July, first to play were Barrie and Shirley de Wee, Jimmy Ronald and Norma-Jean Ronald. With bowlers keen to get back to bowls, the three rinks available for play were full with happy bowlers.

Members to note there are three rinks available for play on Wednesdays and Fridays from 1pm to 4.30pm. All bookings to be made with Ivan van den Bergh on 079-966-3424. Ivan has set up a Covid booking site for members. Should you need more information on the site contact Ivan.

Bowls South Africa’s (BSA) rules are very strict and members are requested to adhere to all rules and regulations as stipulated by BSA.

Should anyone require more information, contact Norma Raath or André Gelderbloom.

Due to the club being closed from March they were unable to publish the farewell to Brian and Trish Farmer, former president and vice president of WBC. The club wishes them the best.
