Galleria Mall mourns death due to Covid-19

According to a release posted on the mall’s Facebook page, while the results have not been confirmed as Covid-19, Standard Bank has opted to close the branch as a precautionary measure and place all staff in self-isolation until further directive from the health authorities.

The management and staff of Galleria Mall were deeply saddened by the death of an external staff member who succumbed due to a suspected case of Covid-19.

According to a release posted on the mall’s Facebook page, while the results have not been confirmed as Covid-19, Standard Bank has opted to close the branch as a precautionary measure and place all staff in self-isolation until further directive from the health authorities.

“The origin of the suspected contraction is not known to us. All protocol regarding stringent hygiene and disinfection processes has already been followed in the store and the mall. Our thoughts and condolences are with the family during this difficult time. There is nothing more important than maintaining a safe environment and we will be taking all necessary precautions for the well-being of our entire shopping community. We urge all shoppers to always wear a mask, practice social distancing and wash your hands as often as possible. Do not spend more time than you need to at the mall and shop in bulk so you limit your visits to the mall. The responsibility is on each one of us to help flatten the curve,” the release stated.
