Kamalinee Primary’s deputy principal retires

Singh left a monumental legacy at the school.

It is with a heavy heart and disbelief that as an educational institution, Kamalinee Primary School, bade farewell to a stalwart of the community, Shanilia Devi Singh.

Singh was in the profession for 42 years of which she spent 38 years at Kamalinee, 24 of those years serving as deputy principal.

She was an excellent educator, leader and a person who understood the deep value of others, respecting the dignity and humanity of all. Thousands of little minds passed through her hands. She nurtured their minds, developed their values and equipped them for life’s journey.

She was a role model to all those around her. Her words of comfort and encouragement certainly reassured and guided learners, educators and all who traversed her path.

A number of projects at the school emerged from her vision and determination. The school’s swimming pool bears testimony to the hard work that she put into realising the dream for the learners and the community of Lotus Park.

Singh served as a remarkable leader who always supported the poorest of the poor, be it learners of the school or members of the community. Her outstanding leadership skills in administration ensured that focus was placed squarely on the wider goals of the school.

She had a deep passion for her assigned tasks, ensuring that they were diligently completed.

Words cannot express their admiration to this loyal and dedicated ambassador of Kamalinee. Singh left a monumental legacy at the school.

Her hard work is certainly an impressive foundation on which the school is now built.
