Quick arrests by Amanzimtoti crime fighters

They smashed a vehicle’s window and stole a laptop.

Two thieves were nabbed in a combined effort by the CCPO and ET Rapid Response on Tuesday morning, 7 July.

CCPO committee member, George Snodey said the pair first tried to fish a cellphone out of a window at a residence in Ndongeni Drive. They were disturbed when the phone’s owner woke up and screamed.

They then moved on to a complex in Greenside Road, where they smashed a vehicle’s window and stole a laptop. “The call was shared over our radios and ET officer Ashley Naidoo spotted one running towards Old Main Road. He was apprehended with the help of the CCPO’s Lloyd Maphumulo and his crewman.

“The suspect was taken to Toti detectives, where he confessed he knew where the suspect who had stolen the laptop was.” He took officers to a residence in Kwamakhutha, where the laptop was recovered and the suspect arrested.
