CCPO extends helping hand to Amanzimtoti members

Members who cannot afford this increase, must call or email the CCPO office.

The CCPO, like many local businesses and NPOs, is under financial pressure due to the lockdown.

“We are fully aware that many households are feeling the pressure also. About 1 900 members are not paying now due to the state of the economy and the CCPO understands this,” said chairman Albert Swart.

Such a loss in income has a twofold effect on its finances: A monthly loss of about R152 000 and a cost of about R40 000 per month in bank charges because of rejected debit orders.

“We appeal to those members who cannot afford to pay to notify our office, so that we can cancel their debit order. We will continue to provide our services to these members for two months and then reassess the situation.

“Everyone is aware of our successes in fighting crime. Even with the lockdown, criminals have continued committing crime and we expect an increase, as times get harder. Thousands of prisoners have been released into society and, with less jobs available, they will resort to crime again.”

To avoid job losses, which could affect the organisation’s capabilities, it has increased its fees by R10. Members who cannot afford this increase, must call the CCPO office on 031-903-7037 or email info@ccpo.co.za.
