Woman killed while crossing R102

According to paramedics, the woman sustained severe injuries including broken legs and head trauma.

A woman was killed after she was knocked by a taxi while attempting to cross the R102 in Isipingo on Tuesday, 23 June.

According to paramedics, the woman sustained severe injuries including broken legs and head trauma.

PT Alarms spokesperson, Dhevan Govidasamy said, “PT Tactical K9 unit was passing by and immediately stopped to assist at the accident scene. The taxi driver remained on scene and paramedics were dispatched. Paramedics assessed her condition and attempted to stabilize her, but she succumbed to her injuries on scene. A taxi passenger sustained minor injuries and was treated on site.”

Commuters and pedestrians are urged to only cross at designated areas.
