Kingsway High School is dedicated to its learners [LETTER]

Their dedication and commitment to work, in going way further than expected is a guarantee of Kingsway High School’s excellent track record and upholding of the school motto.

EDITOR – I recently experienced a problem with a homework task from Kingsway High School that entailed my child watching a YouTube video.
I have no problem with this, as YouTube is often used to watch and learn. The problem was that this particular video was blocked by my set YouTube parental control standards. I personally watched the video first and noticed two issues, the first being a language issue and the second being a video clip showing a child’s injuries after an accident.
I reported my findings to the school’s IT manager, Gary Berends mainly because some children could be blocked and may miss out on information that may be needed to complete the task, and or may be exposed to the two identified problems.
I wish to express my sincere appreciation about the manner in which the staff attended to this matter, immediate and even up to communications at 10pm.
The immediate withdrawal of the document with the link in question and the issuing of a new ‘safe’ link for all children to make use of for their projects.
Their dedication and commitment to work, in going way further than expected is a guarantee of Kingsway High School’s excellent track record and upholding of the school motto.
