Former RTI officer, 94, special guest at retired police officers meeting

He joined the Provincial Road Traffic Inspectorate in Pietermaritzburg and served for 32 years before his retirement.

Piet Kleu, a 94-year-old former provincial road traffic inspector, was invited by Daniel Seevaraj, a former police member, who also became a prominent senior road traffic inspector in Pietermaritzburg, graced a group of retired police officers with his presence at their last meeting at Chistlehurst Academics and Arts.

Piet was born in Kranskop on 1927. He joined the Provincial Road Traffic Inspectorate in Pietermaritzburg and served for 32 years before his retirement.

The cake for the special occasion was donated by Daniel and Mellany Seevaraj. It was a privilege to have Seevaraj’s former colleague and friend in their midst. Members were overjoyed and gathered around him to hear him relate true stories of the past.

Members wished him well and look forward to see him at their future meetings.
