CCPO continues to keep Amanzimtoti safe during lockdown

CCPO supervisor, Michael Mkhize and his crewman located them on the N2.

While the nation is in lockdown, the brave officers of the CCPO are still out on the streets, fighting crime and keeping Toti residents safe.

A suspect who returned to a Princeville Road, Illovo Beach residence for a second go on Tuesday morning, 31 March got his just rewards when he was bust while trying to escape. “The homeowner’s outside beams activated when two suspects jumped over his gate and into his yard. The dogs disturbed them, forcing them to flee,” said committee member, George Snodey.

CCPO supervisor, Michael Mkhize and his crewman searched the surrounding area and located them on the N2. They had nothing on them, warned and chased out of the area. However, a couple of hours later the beams were activated again and they were spotted trying to open the resident’s car.

They were once again disturbed and fled. This time, though, CCPO and ET arrived in numbers and posted guards at exit points. One suspect was spotted hiding in the bush at the bottom end of Illovo Beach Road by ET’s Louis van Ryneveld and apprehended while the other escaped.
