Going beyond the call of duty in Amanzimtoti

The CCPO once again proved it goes beyond the call of duty, and in a quick response time.

Monday, 9 March 

A frantic CCPO member called in to report that another motorist had bumped into their vehicle in Main Road, Doonside and fled. Response officer Lloyd Maphumulo managed to locate the vehicle on the N2 within minutes and stopped it,” said committee member, George Snodey. The victim was not far behind and the matter was sorted out between the two parties. “For those of you that are not CCPO members our system is very effective and works. Saturday night, 7 March

An Iphala Road, Athlone Park resident had a criminal in his yard. “Fortunately for Graham du Toit, he is a CCPO member and made the call to our 24-hour emergency number.” The officer responded in under three minutes and almost ran the suspect over as he made a dash for the bush near the N2. Unfortunately he managed to escape.

Thursday, 5 March

A suspect wanted by Toti detectives was nabbed by CCPO supervisor Isaac Dindi and his crewman Muzi Shezi in the Toti CBD. It was confirmed that a warrant of arrest had been issued for the suspect and he was handed over to Toti SAPS.

Wednesday, 4 March

Information was relayed over the CCPO network regarding a vehicle suspected to be cloned that was in the Toti area. Shortly after the circulation, ET Rapid Response tactical response team members located the vehicle, with two occupants, in Oppenheimer Road. SAPS was called to verify. The vehicle was booked in at the Isipingo pound and the two occupants taken for further investigation.

Monday, 2 March

CCPO foot patrol guards caught two men on the Winkelspruit railway line, with suspected stolen property in the early hours of the morning. Investigations revealed that the New Apostolic Church in Gus Brown Road had been broken into and the suspects were detained by Toti SAPS.
